Wishdust

2017

Original music and sound design for new work by Staibdance, presented by Emory Dance Program at the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts, Atlanta GA, Oct 2017.

Staibdance’s latest evening-length work turns a sharp lens to the aging process: how do the forces of free will and fate co-mingle with satisfaction and regret? Looking back on 50 years of life choices, Staib creates a fantasy world of alternate paths. - www.staibdance.com

One of the best works of the year. - Arts ATL

2 dancers face the camera. Pomegranates wrapped in fabric are hanging from the ceiling.

A dancer is being held aloft by a group of dancers, and reaches tentatively up towards the ceiling. Pomegranates tied in fabric hang down around them.

The words wish dust are superimposed on a black and white image of a forest, with light streaming through the trees.

A dancer on her knees leans forward in anticipation of catching a pomegranate rolling across the floor towards her.
